Solidarity protest held in DTLA against Dakota Access Pipeline

Thousands gathered in downtown LA Tuesday for a solidarity protest against the Dakota Access Pipeline.

The demonstrators want President Obama to take action and reject the project before he leaves office.

Groups including the Indigenous Environmental Network, Honor the Earth and Greenpeace USA also have said they want President Obama to permanently halt the construction of the pipeline, which has been the focus of confrontations between police and protesters in North Dakota for months.
