No Kid Hungry, a national campaign to end childhood hunger in the United States, will host an interactive pop-up event Tuesday in Santa Monica to raise awareness of the importance of school breakfast for kids.

Breakfast is an energy source for kids. However, experts say one in six children in America don't have access to the food that will give them the fuel they need to grow.

In California alone, there are more than 355,000 hungry kids missing school breakfast.

No Kid Hungry partners with local organizations and schools across the country to connect kids in need with healthy food.

Beginning at noon at the Santa Monica Pier, Pedal to Power School Breakfast will let attendees pedal energy-generating bikes to illuminate oversized breakfast food inflatables.

In addition to jumping on bikes, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in other games, giveaways and activities that highlight the importance of school breakfast.

Pedal to Power School Breakfast will go until 8 p.m. on the Central Plaza, adjacent to Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.

No Kid Hungry works with Kellogg's, Citi, Amazon, General Mills and other partners to make sure kids are #PoweredbyBreakfast every day.
