Suspect, officer shot on rooftop parking area in Culver City
CULVER CITY, Calif. - A Culver City police officer and a suspect were shot Monday afternoon, authorities said.
The shooting occurred at about 3 p.m. in the rooftop parking area of a multi-story building in the 8800 block of Washington Boulevard, near Landmark Avenue, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, which is assisting the Culver City Police Department in the investigation.

Officers were chasing the man, who may have been homeless andallegedly had a knife, then shot him after initially deploying less-lethalmunitions,
The suspect was given CPR at the scene, then taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The officer was also transported for treatment, the sheriff's department confirmed.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting were unclear.
The investigation is ongoing.
