Teen, 35-year-old arrested in Moreno Valley Skate Park attack
MORENO VALLEY, Calif. (FOX 11) - Two people were arrested Tuesday after a video that began circulating on social media showed a brutal beating involving multiple people at a skate park in Moreno Valley.
The video was posted to the Moreno Valley Matters community page on Facebook. The video shows three people beating multiple people seemingly unprovoked while onlookers stood by and watched. Police became aware of the video July 21 and determined the violent assaults happened around 8:15 p.m. July 20 at the skate park located near the intersection of Meyer Drive and Heacock Street.
Police was able to determine when the incident occurred by reviewing surveillance footage captured on Moreno Valley's city-wide camera system.
Police were granted search warrants overnight to search the 23800 block of Elyce Court and the 23000 block of Bay Avenue where they retrieved evidence related to the attack including a firearm. Two of the three suspects were arrested, including 35-year-old Robert Aaron who was booked into Robert Presley Detention Center for assault with a deadly weapon, conspiracy, willful child endangerment and contributing to the delinquency of minors, police said. The 17-year-old was not identified due to the fact he is a minor. He was in booked into River County Juvenile Hall for felony assault and conspiracy.
The third suspect remains at large.
The three victims were identified as juveniles, aged 14 and 15, all of Moreno Valley. Their identities are not being released due to their ages.
The reviewed surveillance footage showed the incident was a premeditated attack, officials said.
