Woman hospitalized following shooting in Cerritos

CERRITOS (FOX 11 / CNS) - A woman suffered a non-life threatening wound in a shooting Wednesday in Cerritos.

Deputies responded to an assault-with-a-deadly-weapon call about 1:30 a.m. near Shoemaker Avenue and the Artesia (91) Freeway and located the victim, according to Deputy Trina Schrader with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment, she said.
