60th annual Manhattan Beach Open tips off this weekend

Nearly 200 teams will compete on the sands of South Bay for the 60th annual Manhattan Beach Open this weekend.

The magnitude of the event is often compared to the Super Bowl or Wimbledon. The athletes are competing to become one of four volleyball champions celebrated and recorded in the sport's history.

The opening rounds begin Friday followed by the elimination rounds on Saturday. The semi-finals and finals take place on Sunday.

If you can't make it to South Bay to watch, The Manhattan Beach Open will be available to stream on Amazon Prime.
