As Surpreme Court weighs immigration, rallies held in San Bernardino and DTLA

(FOX 11) - "Supreme Court, no amnesty," chanted a group of demonstrators at San Bernardino's City Hall on Monday.

The group is calling on the Supreme Court to rule against Obama's executive action on amnesty for millions of undocumented families.

"I think Obama's way is the wrong way," Raul Rodriguez, America First Latinos, said. "He's trying to rule like an emperor and it's unconstitutional what he's doing."

The protestors held signs and banners, which read the names of all 26 states challenging the president's programs.

If the programs go into effect, 4 million people would be eligible to work in the U.S. without fear of deportation.

"It's just not appropriate to come to this country and to demand rights," Kate Valdez said. "Things have to be done legally, we're just asking everybody uphold the law."

In Downtown Los Angeles, those supporting "DAPA" or "Deferred Action for Parents of Americans," gathered to share their story.

As a mother of children with citizenship, Isabel Medina would quality to stay here.

"We are talking about just an opportunity to be here, to keep our families together, to work, we're not talking about residence or citizenship," Medina said.

In Los Angeles - roughly 400-thousand people would benefit from Obama's programs - 1.4 million across the state, according to Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights of Los Angeles.

Olga Cordera, a businesses owner in North Hollywood, shared a photo of herself with her husband.

She said, as parents they live in fear of being separated from their children.

Both sides can agree on one point - they all want to see a resolution to the country's immigration problem.
