Cupcake the cat survives 8-day journey through the mail

Worthing, United Kingdom (FOX 11) - Everyone who's ever had a pet cat knows they enjoy crawling in things like boxes. Well, a Siamese cat in the UK recently crawled in a box of DVD's without its owners realizing it, and they shipped the box to West Sussex-- more than 260 miles away.

According to the Grove Lodge Veterinary Group, the recipient of the box got it eight days later and was shocked to find the cat named Cupcake in the box as well.

The person then brought the cat to the veterinary group which found a microchip in the cat. The microchip enabled the veterinarians to contact the owners who had been looking for the cat all week and had no idea it had snuck into the DVD box!

Cupcake was dehydrated and is undergoing treatment while she waits for her family to pick her up and take her home.
