Increased security at Covina high school in response to threats
COVINA, Calif. - Extra patrol units from the Covina Police Department and the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department were assigned to Charter Oak High School and the immediate area following a school threat.
A student and non-student were involved in a fight on campus on Wednesday, Covina police said in a Facebook post. Those involved in the fight were arrested. However, the situation between the two involved parties was not resolved and continued to escalate. Several posts about a school threat began circulating on social media.
School officials reported low attendance at the school after the threats.
