LA doctor accused of drugging, sexually assaulting woman at his home
LOS ANGELES - An LA doctor was arrested and charged for allegedly drugging and sexually assaulting a woman at his home in West LA.
42-year-old Babak Hajhosseini was arrested Nov. 26 for the sexual assault of an unconscious person. He was released on bail three days later, police said.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, Hajhosseini, who worked as a wound and burn doctor at Wound and Burn Centers of America in Los Angeles and Catalina Island Health, used job recruiting websites and offered high hourly wages to ‘locate and entice potential victims’.
Police said he would invite the potential victims to work overtime after hours at his home.
Once at his house, police said that Hajhosseini pressured a woman to have an alcoholic drink. Once the drink was consumed, the woman fell unconscious and Hajhosseini sexually assaulted and recorded her, police said in a statement.
On Dec. 23, the DA's Officer filed two counts of rape by use of drugs, one count of rape of an unconscious or asleep person, one count of oral copulation by anesthesia or controlled substance, three counts of oral copulation of an unconscious or asleep person, and one count of sodomy of an unconscious or asleep person.
Investigators believe there are additional victims who have yet to come forward. Detectives released Hajhosseini's photo in hopes additional victims will identify and report him.
