Three in custody after pursuit ends in Whittier
LOS ANGELES - Three people were taken into custody after leading deputies on a chase through parts of LA County.
The driver, in a white Chrysler minivan, was allegedly wanted for reckless driving.
The chase began in the City of Industry and continued on the 60 Freeway. The driver eventually made their way to Whittier and continued driving on surface streets, narrowly dodging other vehicles.
Law enforcement conducted a pit-maneuver near Pioneer Blvd. and Brian Ct., which caused the suspect vehicle to spin and collide with a parked vehicle on the street.
Officers, with guns drawn, moved in on the suspect as they waited for him to get out of the vehicle. The driver soon opened the door and surrendered to officers.
About a minute later, a female passenger also exited from the vehicle and surrendered to deputies; however, a third person remained in the vehicle. After refusing to exit, deputies approached the vehicle and removed a man from inside.
