Lizzy & the Triggermen perform live on GDLA + backstage interview
LOS ANGELES - Lizzy and the Triggermen performed on Good Day LA as part of our Mercury Insurance Concert Series.
Dubbed one of the hottest swing bands in Los Angeles, Lizzy and the Triggermen returned to Good Day LA ahead of the release of their new EP.
Good Songs for Bad Times is available for pre-order and your first chance to buy the new EP will be available at their concert at El Rey scheduled for September 7. The concert occurs on a night dedicated to big band swing, Old Hollywood glamour, and even swing dance lessons.
The ten-piece band was formed by Lizzy Shapiro in 2015. The band combines the sound and soul of swing music and adds a modern twist with a mixture of originals and covers. Their songs are arranged by bandleader Dan Barrett.
Shapiro is trained in opera at Yale and Italy and has been featured in numerous national commercials. Not only does she have the pipes, she is also a screenwriter and actress.
"Lizzy and the Triggermen," attribute their success through word-of-mouth. They have gone from playing at secret clubs to headlining at iconic venues, like the Troubadour and the Wiltern.
