Man climbs fire escape to break into woman's apartment and assaults her, say police
ECHO PARK, CA (FOX 11) - A shocking break-in leads to a brazen sexual assault while a woman is sleeping. It happened two Sundays ago (November 4th) in her Sunset Boulevard apartment in Echo Park. He climbed a fire escape on the Glendale Blvd side, then broke into the woman's bedroom window around 5 in the morning.
The man pried the window open, walked into the woman's bedroom, and began assaulting her while she was still sleeping. Police say she woke up, pushing him away.
After he attacked her, he left through her front door
Video shows him wearing a green sweatshirt with some kind of logo, dark pants and black Adidas shoes, while climbing up a flight of stairs in her apt complex.
Police are still on the case for her attacker and describe him as a Hispanic man with black hair, brown eyes, who is 5 feet 5 inches, 150 pounds, between 19-25 with a clean shave.
LAPD wants to remind people to lock their windows or even get a window alarm to give you advanced warning.
