Man dies after shooting at Arcadia house party

Homicide detectives with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department were investigating after a man was shot and killed at a house party held at an Airbnb rental in Arcadia on Sunday night, officials said.

Deputies were called to the home located in the 2800 block of Caroline Way, near the intersection of Baldwin and Live Oak avenues just before 8:50 p.m.

Officials said there were an estimated 25 guests at the gathering.

Arriving deputies discovered a man suffering from gunshot wounds to the torso. He was rushed to a local hospital where he died, the sheriff’s office said.

Authorities said someone was in custody for firearms charges and were working to confirm if they were connected to the deadly shooting.

This becomes the latest deadly shooting to occur at a house party in recent months in the Los Angeles area.
