Mobile healthcare company offering at-home COVID-19 testing in Los Angeles

If you think you may have COVID-19, you no longer have to leave your home to be tested. A mobile healthcare company just launched right here in Los Angeles.

Trained first responders come to your home to administer a COVID-19 test or help you with any illness you may be feeling.

They come to you! You don't have to risk infected others or getting infected by going to a hospital. In fact, you don't even have to leave your home.

These are first responders working for a mobile healthcare company called "Ready" created by Justin Dangel.

"It really was an effort to ensure people could get access to healthcare where they needed it and when they needed it," said Dangel.

They have a team of highly trained responders that include paramedics, EMTs, and nurses who visit the patient in the safety of their home.

Like Raquel Johnson - an EMT right here in Los Angeles.

"You get to build relationships with people. They feel much more comfortable and willing to tell you everything that's going on," said Johnson.

Before helping others through Ready, they helped Raquel!

"Personally I've used Ready services. I have an autistic child who gets very anxious when he goes to the doctor so being able to have a visit at home has been a lifesaver for us," said Johnson.

It makes healthcare more accessible to more patients and that, in turn, eases the burden on hospitals.

In fact, New Orleans, the first city to implement ready, reported a 70 percent reduction in non-emergency ER visits in the last three months.

"I think we are a heck of a lot better than being in a waiting room or leaving your home," said Dangel.

Each responder has an iPad that connects the patient to a doctor in case they need immediate treatment.
