Officials seek help to ID suspects who assaulted, robbed ice cream vendor in downtown LA
LOS ANGELES - Authorities have released video footage in hopes of identifying a man and woman who assaulted and robbed an ice cream vendor in downtown Los Angeles.
The robbery occurred around noon Tuesday near 12th and Birch streets, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Surveillance video shows the two suspects approach the ice cream vendor on a sidewalk and punch him, causing him to fall to the ground. It was unclear what the suspects stole from the victim.
The male suspect is described as 5 feet, 10 inches tall and 165 pounds, and the woman is about 5 feet, 4 inches tall and 125 pounds. They left the scene in a dark Toyota Avalon, according to police.
The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries, and has since been released, police said.
