Santa Clarita opens recreational pool with COVID-19 restrictions
SANTA CLARITA, Calif. - Just in time for the dreaded SoCal heatwave, the Santa Clarita Aquatic Center has opened its recreational pool, water slide and all.
But don’t expect business as usual. The New COVID-19 normal means that online reservations are required.
A group of no more than 10 people from the same household can reserve a one hour slot, and no more than three groups will be allowed in the pool at the same time.
Masks must be worn at all times, unless you are in the water, and people must come already dressed to swim. Locker rooms are off limits, although you can use the bathroom.
Reservations are also being taken for the lap pool, again for limited periods and with the same restrictions.
Regardless of the limitations, the people we talked to were very happy about the opportunity to get in the water, especially families, whose children can’t go to school, physically, let alone a movie theatre or even the mall.
They are serious about the reservations, and they are quickly getting booked.
To register for recreational family swim or the lap pool, call 661-250-340 or visit the city's website.
