'Sesame Street' fires 1, 2, THREE original human cast members

NEW YORK, NY (FOX 11) - 'Sesame Street' is being brought to you today by the letters F-I-R-E-D!

Three beloved human characters from the children's show have been let go after appearing on the program since the late 1960's and early 1970's.

"Bob the music teacher", played by Bob McGrath.

"Gordon the science teacher", played by Roscoe Orman.

And "Mr. Fix It", played by Emilio Delgado - have all been let go.

McGrath said the changes are part of HBO trying to reach more tech-savvy kids, but PBS has denied those claims.

HBO struck a cable deal with the owners of the show earlier this year.

The show says the decision to dismiss the veteran cast members wasn't made by HBO.

All three will continue to represent 'Sesame Street' at public events.
