SURVEY: Many L.A. renters don't plan on staying here permanently

According to a national survey by 'Apartment List', Seventy-seven percent of L.A. renters plan to re-locate to a different city when they decide to settle down.

Forty-nine percent of those surveyed by the rental site 'Apartment List' cited housing affordability in their future plans.

It follows a national pattern where young educated workers move to expensive metros to work after college, but leave when they are ready to settle down.

The survey states, 'that many renters hope to relocate, and they seek affordable cities with strong job opportunities. As rents rise in many cities nationwide, more renters may be looking to relocate to metros with strong job growth and more affordable rents.'

Apartment List surveyed over 24-thousand renters in 50 metropolitan cities across the U.S. including one-thousand in Los Angeles.
