Suspect in deadly scooter beating in Long Beach charged with murder
LONG BEACH, Calif. (FOX 11) - A man accused of beating a Long Beach woman to death with an electric scooter was charged with murder on Wednesday.
27-year-old Amad Rashad Redding of Long Beach was arraigned Wednesday afternoon for the death of 63-year-old Rosa Elena Hernandez.
Hernandez was viciously attacked in the 3100 block of E. 64th Street on May 13 as she walked. Police still don't have a reason for the attack. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Hours later, police took Redding into custody a few blocks from the scene of the crime, at a convenience store in the area of Downey Avenue and Artesia Boulevard.
