11 arrested after police raid illegal gambling operation in Long Beach

Eleven people were arrested and nearly three dozen detained after police raided an illegal gambling operation in Long Beach.

Detectives and SWAT team served a warrant at a business on the 2300 block of Pacific Avenue about 3:30 a.m., Wednesday according to the Long Beach Police Department. Detectives were first made aware of the illegal gambling business earlier this year.

During a search of the building law enforcement seized three illegal gambling machines, four firearms, ammunition, narcotics, and approximately $5,000 in cash. Officers also recovered two stolen vehicles.

Eleven people were arrested and taken into custody on various charges.

The Long Beach Police Department says they will be partnering with city partners to reduce the number of illegal gambling operations within the city.
