Better Together: Food Share Ventura County

This week, we're excited to bring you a special series where we have one goal in mind; in times of crisis and challenges, we come together, and we're better off for it. We are better together, and together we are going to get through this pandemic.

Food Share of Ventura County has been operating for 40 years to help feed Ventura County residents.

The organization has over 400 volunteers, but many are staying home amid the coronavirus pandemic. The National Guard stepped up to help and have delivered goods to residents in need.

"It’s heartwarming and heartbreaking. It’s heartwarming because we are here to fill this need but it’s heartbreaking because you don’t really see this increased need until you see it at these pop-up distributions... you see people in line five hours beforehand waiting to get food…the need is so big right now and we’re just honored to be a part of it to meet it," Food Share Ventura Chief Development Officer Jennifer Caldwell said.
