Rideshare driver arrested for allegedly raping woman he drove home
VAN NUYS, CA (CNS) - Police are seeing possible additional victims of a 37-year-old driver who worked for Lyft and Uber, who's been arrested for allegedly raping a woman he drove home from a Van Nuys pub. Octavio Alvarez Gomez is being held on more than $2 million bail.
The alleged crime happened Tuesday night when the driver allegedly assaulted the woman in the car near her residence.
Anyone who might have been victimized by the suspect was asked to call the LAPD's Van Nuys Station. Anonymous tips can be submitted through Crime Stoppers by calling 800-222-TIPS.
