Firefighters, passengers hurt after Brightline train collides with fire truck in Delray Beach, officials say
DELRAY BEACH, Fla. - Three firefighters and 12 passengers were hurt early Saturday morning after a Brightline passenger train crashed into a fire truck in Delray Beach, city officials said.
The crash happened shortly before 11 a.m. near East Atlantic and Railroad avenues, according to the Delray Beach Fire Rescue Department.
According to the City of Delray, the three firefighters were taken to the hospital in stable condition and the 12 passengers were transported with what were described as minor injuries.
An investigation into the collision is underway by Brightline, the Delray Beach Police Department and the National Transportation Safety Board, according to city officials.
